What does amigurumi means?
The word Amigurumi comes from Japanese. The Japanese call handicrafts knitted with crochet and needle as Ami. The Japanese call the toys that are filled with objects such as fibers or cotton as Nuigurumi. The word Amigurumi is derived as a combination of these two words.

I want to give you some informations about this pattern;

You will need:

Himalaya Dolphin Baby 100% polyester, 100 g/120 m (1/2 skein)
4.0 mm crochet hook
10 mm safety eyes
Black embroidery floss
Yarn needle and scissors
Fiberfill
Height: 15-17 cm (5.9-6.6″)

Abbreviations:
R – row
ch – chain
st – stitch
sc – single crochet

bobble st – bobble stitch (3dc bobble)
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (2 sc together)
[…] – number of stitches you should have at the end of the row
(…) – repeat whatever is between the brackets the given number of times

Ears, head, body, arms and legs are crocheted as a single part.

Make 15 ch.
From the 2nd ch from hook 14 sc.
Fasten off.

Ears (make 2)
R 1: 2 ch, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook [5]
R 2: 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc [7]
R 3: 7 sc
R 4: 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc [10]
R 5: 10 sc

Don’t cut the yarn when you’ll finish the second ear.

Continue crocheting the head, starting from the second ear:

R 1: crochet 2 ch from the 2nd ear and join it with the 1st ear, 10 sc on 1st ear, sc in next 2 ch, 10 sc on 2nd ear, sc in next 2 ch (opposite side) [24]

R 2: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times [30]
R 3-7: 30 sc (5 rows)

In the next row we will crochet the arms:
R 8: 12 sc, bobble st, 5 sc, bobble st, 11 sc [30] – view video at 06:47
R 9: 30 sc

R 10: (9 sc, inc) repeat 3 times [33]

Insert safety eyes between R 4 and R 5 at the distance of 4-5 stitches from each other.

Switch to blue yarn (view video at 10:15):
R 11-13: 33 sc (3 rows)

In the next row we will join the tail and crochet the legs.
R 14: 2 sc together with sc of the tail, 12 sc, bobble st (brown yarn), 6 sc, bobble st (brown yarn), 11 sc [33] – view video at 13:34
R 15: (1 sc, dec) repeat 11 times [22]
R 16: (dec) repeat 11 times [11]

Stuff with fiberfill ears and head/body.
R 17: (dec) repeat 6 times, clothing the hole.
Fasten off – view video at 18:15.

Embroider a nose with black floss – view video at 19:32.
