What does amigurumi means?
The word Amigurumi comes from Japanese. The Japanese call handicrafts knitted with crochet and needle as Ami. The Japanese call the toys that are filled with objects such as fibers or cotton as Nuigurumi. The word Amigurumi is derived as a combination of these two words.

The size of the toy depends on the yarn and the hook you choose. This the toy is crocheted number 4, the size turned out to be 27-28 cm in length, 15 cm in height (head).
The main materials for the toy:
- plush yarn – “Himalayas” “Dolphin baby” or “YarnArt” “Dolce” (120 m / 100 gr.) You choose the colors of the yarn to create this toy to your taste (I used to knit a blue whale yarn “Yarnart” “Dolce” number 758, and on lilac – “Himalayas” “Dolphin baby” number 80349; – yarn “Vita” “Coco” or analogs – for sewing parts and for knitting an eyelet
(white, blue and black); - hooks (I use 4mm for the toy and 1.25mm for the eyes);
- holofiber or synthetic fluff (or any filler that you usually use);
- needle, marker, scissors.
Legend:
KA – amigurumi ring
VP – air loop
RLS – single crochet
PR – increase
UB – decrease
SS – connecting column
CCH – double crochet
PSN – half double crochet
Amigurumi ring on plush yarn is made differently than on ordinary one, since the yarn is bulky, we do it like this: We collect 2 VP, and in 2 loops from the hook we make 6 sc, connect ss with the first loop, the ring is ready =)
I knit in the “crosses” way, so the fabric is denser, and plush the yarn looks even prettier =)
INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO CARRY A MARKER TO WALK
EXACTLY:
This toy is knitted in a spiral, based on this marker (any thread) is constantly shifting to the side. To prevent this from happening, we make loops displacement, after about 3-5 rows, it depends on what density and the number of which hook you are knitting, from the yarn, etc. The marker must pass in a straight line and does not move anywhere, thanks to this, any detail is always will be as you intended it, and as provided in the description.
Well =) Let’s start our knitting =)
In the toy, we follow the marker: it should pass strictly in the center of the abdomen from
nose to tail! (see photo)
We start knitting from the body, knit in the main color:
1) 6 sbn in the spacecraft
2) 6 ave (12)
3) (1 sbn, pr) * 6 (18)
4) 1 sbn, pr, (2 sbn, pr) * 5, 1 sbn (24)
5) (3 sbn, pr) * 6 (30)
6) 2 sbn, pr, (4 sbn, pr) * 5, 2 sbn (36)
7) (5 sbn, pr) * 6 (42)
8) 3 sbn, pr, (6 sbn, pr) * 5, 3 sbn (48)
9) (7 sbn, pr) * 6 (54)
10) – 18) 54 sc (9 rows)
19) 15 sc, dec, 3 sc, dec, 3 sc, 2 dec,

20) 48 sbn
21) 14 sc, dec, 2 sc, dec, 2 sc, 2 sc, 2 sc, dec,
2 sc, dec, 14 sc (42)
22) 42 PRS
23) 13 sc, dec, 1 sc, dec, 1 sc, 2 dec, 1 sc, dec,
1 sc, dec, 13 sc (36)
24) 36 sc
25) 12 sc, 6 dec, 12 sc (30)
26) 30 PRS, we fill the toy, and then we fill in the course of knitting
27) 7 sc, dec, 1 sc, dec, 1 sc, 2 dec, 1 sc,
1 kill, 1 sbn, kill, 7 sbn (24)
28) 24 sc
29) 5 sc, dec, 2 sc, dec, 2 sc, dec, 2 sc,
ub, 5 sbn (20)
30) 20 sc
31) – 33) 5 PSN, 10 SS, 5 PSN (20)
(3 rows)
34) 1 sc, dec, 2 sc, dec, 6 sc, dec, 2 sc,
ub, 1 sbn (16)
35) 16 PRS
36) dec, 1 sc, dec, 6 sc, dec, 1 sc, dec (12)
37) 12 sc
Next, we knit a ponytail. To do this, take out the hook, but we do not cut the thread. From the end of knitting counting in the opposite direction 6 sbn and we take out a loop with a crochet.
Thus, the resulting hole divided into 2 equal parts, 6 sbn each circle.
We knit the first part of the tail (the second
knit in the same way):
1) 6 sc
2) (1sbn, pr) * 3 (9)
3) (2 sbn, pr) * 3 (12)
4) (3 sbn, pr) * 3 (15)
5) (4 sbn, pr) * 3 (18)
6) (5 sbn, pr) * 3 (21)
7) 21 sbn
8) (5 sbn, ub) * 3 (18)
9) (4 sbn, ub) * 3 (15)
10) (3 sbn, ub) * 3 (12)
11) (2 sc, dec) * 3 (9)
12) (1 sbn, ub) * 3 (6)
Cut the thread, fix the holepull together, hide the thread in the toy.
You do not need to fill the tail.
Lateral fins:
we retreat from the beginning of knitting 16 rows down and 3 loops to the left and right
sides of the marker (see photo), put pins, then retreat from the pins
3 more loops to the sides and too put the pins, then retreat 2 rows up and 2 rows down, and put on center from the first 2 pins 1 more a pin (diamonds should turn out) (see photo)
Now we knit the fins.
We begin to knit from the nose of the kitten:
1) 9 sbn
2) (2 sbn, pr) * 3 (12)
3) (3 sbn, pr) * 3 (15)
4) 6 sc, 3 pr, 6 sc (18) (increments located closer to the tail)
5) 18 sbn
6) dec, 14 sc, dec (16)
7) dec, 12 sc, dec (14)
8) dec, 10 sc, dec (12)
9) dec, 8 sc, dec (10)
10) dec, 6 sc, dec (8)
11) dec, 4 sc, dec (6)
Cut the thread, fix the hole pull together, hide the thread in the toy.
We don’t fill the fins!
Fin running along the back:
Find the center of the back. For this from the beginning of knitting, we retreat about 21
row, put a pin, further from it retreat 4 rows down, put a pin, and
we also put on the sides so that it turned out to be a rhombus. I got 11 sc in a circle.
2 row I also knitted 11 sbn, and then just made the deductions to the end until the hole is not left quite small, then I just cut the thread, secured and pulled off the hole, the rest of the thread hid in a toy.
Breast:
We knit with a thread of additional color turning rows, do not forget at the beginning
each row to do the VP of the lift:
8 VP
1) 7 sc
2) pr, 5 sbn, pr (9 sbn)
3) 9 sbn
4) pr, 7 sbn, pr (11 sbn)
5) – 12) 11 sbn (8 rows)
13) dec, 7 sc, dec (9)
14) -18) 9 sc (5 rows)
19) dec, 5 sc, dec (7)
20) -24) 7 sc (5 rows)
25) dec, 3 sc, dec (5)
26) – 29) 5 sc (4 rows)
30) dec, 1 sc, dec (3)
31) -35) 3 (5 rows), cut the thread, fasten.
We knit the fins on the breast.
To do this, we retreat 18 rows down from the top of the breast, insert the hook and knit:
1) 3 sbn
2) pr, 2 sbn (4)
3) 3 sbn, pr (5)
4) -5) 5 sc (2 rows)
6) ub, 3 sbn (4)
7) 2 sc, dec (3)
8) kill, 1 sbn (2)
9) kill, cut the thread, fix
On the other hand, we knit in the same way, symmetrical, just flip
breast so that the fin knits accurately just like the first one.
Now we tie our breasts around the entire perimeter of the sc.
Eyes:
1) We start knitting with black yarn:
6 sbn in spacecraft
2) 6 ave (12)
3) (1 sbn, pr) * 6 (18), change the thread to blue
4) (2 sbn, pr) * 4, 1 sbn, change the thread on White
5) we transfer the thread up, behind the eye, departing from the blue 2 loops, pull the white thread through it, we continue to knit in a circle, insert the hook directly into the following loop and knit:
(3 sbn, pr) * 4, 2 sbn, ss, thread pull out, fix, cut, leaving the end for sewing
Eye decoration:
We knit the left eye 15 cc black thread “Vita” “Coco”, starting
from above from the black edge; when do another ss, thread a little stretch so that the eye is not pulled together.
Next, we thread a black thread into the needle and gently stitch over the blue colors with regular stitches stripe (see Photo).
On the right eye, we make ss with a black thread, starting from the white edge, counting along the white edge from the bottom of 6 loops, and knit to black 15 cc, also we sew with stitches with black thread over the blue color.
For sewing, leave the threads in black and white, the rest of the threads can be tied under the eye with a knot and trimmed.
Assembling the toy:
Pin up our breast pins (see photo), sew on
Sew on the eyes.
We embroider a smile (I embroidered with a thread black “Vita” “Coco” in 4 addition). We embroider eyelashes, eyebrows, (I embroidered thread of black color “Vita” “Coco” in 2 addition)
